Everything in your life starts with you. Only you can design your life the way you want it. To make the Law of Attraction work for you and excel in life, you need to develop a Transformational Mindset.
To develop it, first you need to take responsibility for all areas of your life. I call it Ownership.
It is the secret of all secrets, the master key that unlocks all the doors.
If you don’t start with this step, the goals you set in life will never become extraordinary; they will be dead-end goals leading to depression in most cases.
Let’s look at the steps of taking ownership of your life:
1. Stop blaming others for what happened to you, stop complaining, judging and gossiping.
If you blame others, then you give control over your life to other people. It was your decision to work, live or interact with them in a way that created the situation you don’t like. Take responsibility for it.
Are you continuously judging people and gossiping about them? Make a decision not to engage in that type of behaviour anymore. Concentrate on your life. You are important, you are here for a reason, you have so much to do. Don’t waste your time on negativity.
2. Take ownership of your actions. Take control over how you react to what’s happening.
You can remind yourself every day:
ONLY FOR TODAY I won’t blame anybody for whatever happens.
ONLY FOR TODAY I won’t gossip.
ONLY FOR TODAY I will take a moment before I give an angry reaction.
Taking ownership for your actions also means going out there and doing what needs to be done despite all fears and insecurities.
3. Come out of your story. Whatever happened in your life cannot have control over you for the rest of your life.
Do you feel like a victim in your life? Does life happen to you and you have no control over it? If you want to achieve anything in your life you need to come out of it. Take charge of your life. This is just a simple decision you need to make.
Declare: “I take full responsibility for my life. I made decisions that brought me to this point and I accept full responsibility for the way I acted and reacted in all situations”.
4. Examine your limiting beliefs, decisions and fears.
Beliefs such as “I am not good enough” or “I am not ready” stop you from going after your goals.
Does fear have control over your life? Do you want to do something in your life and fear stops you from doing it? Then, you don’t have ownership of your life as long as you let fear dictate you what to do.
You don’t need to wait till you don’t have fear anymore. Actually, to deal with fear is to do what you are afraid of.
There is no failure, only feedback that will help you to do things differently next time. The mere fact of going out there and doing things will decrease the fear substantially and increase your self-esteem and self-confidence.
5. Develop a positive attitude to life. Use gratitude to cultivate positivity.
Be grateful to God, Divine, Universe (or whatever Higher Power you believe in) for everything you have and everything you are, be grateful to other people and Planet Earth for everything.
6. Practice forgiveness.
By taking ownership and letting go of blame you will find it easier to forgive others. Forgiveness will release a big baggage of the past from your soul so you’ll move forward faster and easier.
7. Take responsibility for your support system. It includes your relationships, environment, finances, learning needs, any outside support such as coaching and mentoring.
How do you you relate to others? What are your learning needs? Do you need an extra support? If yes, what do you do about it? What is your financial situation? If you are in debt what are your plans to come out of it?
Do you like your environment? If you don’t like it and you cannot change it right away act as if you actually chose it yourself. This will empower you to find solutions out of undesirable situation.
8. Take responsibility for your body, your eating habits, exercising, rest and relaxation.
You cannot go too far if you have unhealthy diet, don’t exercise and don’t take time to relax and recharge your batteries.
After you take responsibility for your life you will look at life from a different angle.
